Tiny House Revival!
It has been a year since I started this project, and as we
reach 250 members, I would say we are experiencing
a tiny revival in the Tiny House Village Network.

Earlier this month, I was struggling with the idea that
this network wouldn't be sustainable. But then several
members pulled together and offered to help, and now
we are stronger than ever.

Now we are looking for leaders to take this project
forward. If you are interested in moving beyond the web
network to create an actual village, please join us.

Celebrating 100 Charter Members
Today is a historic day, marking the growth of our network
to 100 charter members in just 5 weeks.

This notable grassroots expansion demonstrates how huge
gaps in the system have left us wanting more (or,
actually, less).

Americans from all over the country are joining us and
clammering for the same thing:

the ability to live in a small, affordable home without
breaking any laws in the process;

the opportunity to "park" that home on a small piece
of land;

to live with other like-minded people and maybe grow
some food together.

To paraphrase, we just want to live a little more simply.

These requests should not be complicated, but because of
the bloated housing industry, distorted municipal codes
and unnecessary zoning laws, they are incredibly difficult
for the average person to navigate.

It's hard for me to express how important I think this
project is. The numbers should speak for themselves: home
vacancy rates soar, tent cities are on the rise, more and
more people are living in and around the edge of poverty.

The Tiny House Village Network is 100 people strong today.
Let's make something of it! Please join us and help us on our
journey for a new era of affordable small housing.

The Birth of a Network

The Tiny House Village Network was born on Tuesday,
February 24th, 2009.

In the first week we had 50 Charter Members join.

If we can wildly exceed my expectations in the first week,
how much can we get done in the first year?

Let me just put this out there: I would love to celebrate the
network's one-year anniversary by visiting the first tiny
house village.

Yes, we are seeking movers and shakers -- builders,
developers, parks people, land owners and tiny house
enthusiasts alike. Please join us and help make things
happen.

Charter Members will be accepted for a limited time.
